The Ely Centre Welcome New Appointments

The Ely Centre are pleased to announce the appointments of

• Mrs Tracy Pryce to the role of Clinical Co-ordinator

• Mrs Christine Spence to the role of Head of Health of Well Being Services.

• Mrs Kim McFarland to the role of Health and Well Being Case Officer P/T – Western Areas

• Mrs Karen Kennedy to the role of Health and Well Being Case Officer P/T -Southern Areas

Mrs Spence, Mrs McFarland and Mrs. Kennedy will complement the existing case officer team of Mrs. Sharon Breen, Mrs. Rachel Mullen (PT) and Mrs Glenda Milligan (PT).

These posts have been developed as part of the PEACEPLUS VSS PULSE (Partnership for Understanding Learning Support and Education) project to improve the health and wellbeing of victims and survivors by increasing and improving access to high quality, trauma informed services across, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, and the Republic of Ireland, through the continuation, development, and enhancement of an integrated, outcomes based, holistic community led support programme.

The PEACEPLUS Programme is a unique cross-border structural funding programme aimed at reinforcing progress towards a peaceful, stable, and prosperous society in Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. PEACEPLUS has been designed to build upon the achievements of the previous PEACE IV programme. The PEACEPLUS Programme is supported by the European Union, the UK Government, the Northern Ireland Executive, and the Irish Government.

Speaking on their recent appointments Mrs Pryce stated “Drawing from hands-on experience, I aim to support the team, foster a collaborative environment, and ensure Ely clients continue to receive the compassionate, high-quality care that Ely practitioners have always provided. I am committed to reinforcing best practices, streamlining processes, and advancing the Ely Centre’s mission to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we support.”

Mrs Kennedy stated “I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Health and Well Being Caseworker at the Ely Centre. I feel very privileged to have become a permanent part time member of the highly experienced and dedicated team. I will continue to support victims and survivors, build friendships and try to make a difference to many people who have suffered greatly over the years. There is no doubt that The Ely Centre is a victim centred organisation of which I am extremely pleased to be a part.’

Mrs McFarland stated “With over 26 years in social care and community sectors I’ve developed strong people skills and excel both independently and in teams. My passion for continuous learning and qualifications in Counselling highlight my commitment to making a positive difference. I’m excited about bringing my experience and enthusiasm to the Ely Centre, fostering a supportive and community-focused environment for all, really looking forward to getting started”

Mrs Spence stated “Throughout my career supporting those impacted by the Troubles has been a role I have thoroughly enjoyed. In recent roles I had the opportunity to meet and talk with many Victims who experience trauma, distress and despair as a direct result of the troubles. I am delighted to be joining the Ely Centre and look forward to working with the VSS and our partners to implement this essential support service for victims and survivors.

All bring a diverse wealth of personal and professional life experiences to their respective roles, life experiences which we are confident will ensure the successful delivery of their respective projects and more importantly be welcomed and appreciated by those we support.
