On Thursday 1st September, the Ely Centre was privileged to welcome Lord Caine to our Armagh Offices for a tour of our offices and discussions surrounding the Northern Ireland Legacy Bill.
This meeting provided members the opportunity to raise issues and opposition to areas included within the Legacy Bill and question the Minister on the proposals laid out within the legislation.
We welcomed Lord Caines’ openess throughout the discussions and the genuine empathy he displayed when hearing of the issues concerning victims and survivors.
The meeting concluded with an agreement that a document outlining the concerns raised and suggestions for improvement and consideration would be forward to Lord Caine.
