On Monday 31st January members of the Ely Centre staffing team Mr Lee McDowell, Director and Dr Art O’Malley, Head of Clinical Service were honored to be invited as guests to the Enniskillen Rotary Club to receive a donation of £2190 from District Governor Dave Murray, Rotary Ireland and President Catherine Robinson, to continue the development of our mental health services in the area.
Speaking after the event Mr McDowell stated “We extend our sincerest thanks to Mrs Robinson for the invitation to todays events and to the Rotary Club of Enniskillen for this generous donation. The current pandemic has accelerated the demand upon our clinical services, and donations such as this go and long way in ensuring that the Ely center can provide additional support to an increasing amount of vulnerable and suffering individuals and families. Local support and recognition is vital to ensure we are equipped to support as many people as possible”
Dr O’Malley stated “ Of particular interest to us as an organization in recent times has been to provide alternative approaches in therapy surrounding the mode and setting of therapy provided by our clinical team to clients who have not benefited from more traditional, clinical setting treatment. Last year we piloted our Nature Based Therapy Programme which provided group trauma therapy in an outdoor setting at a specially designed area by our Therapist Anja Rosler, The results of this pilot were extremely positive and we are intending to utilize a portion of this donation to continue the development of this programme of nature based therapy with the remaining porting being utilized to support additional clients in our centre.
The Ely Centre would like to thank Enniskillen Rotary Club for their support I and the whole team thank you all once again for this donation.
